About
Julia Wess marries radical love theory with contemporary painting application and aesthetics. Her pieces are modern day representations of love and friendship in the age of self care, preservation, and mutuality. In recent works, she has introduced humor and a lighthearted camp sensibility to her compositions as she focuses on exploring delight within the femme bond.
Julia Wess (b. 2000, Annapolis, MD) graduated from Pratt Institute in 2021 and received her MFA from the New York Studio School in 2023. She is currently based outside of DC. |
